I am a Diabetic...Does any other diabetic take Symlin?

I am a type 2 diabetic, and I already take Novolog and Levemir (both insulin).

Now my doctor wants to add Symlin to my regimen, but I've only heard about the dangerous side effects of Symlin (non-insulin injection, only FDA-approved in 2005). The Symlin websites are only offering scary info.

Anyone?
