Glycemic Control a Risk Factor in Type 1 Diabetes

According to new studies, there is a correlation between glycemic control and cardiovascular disease as well as coronary heart disease. This is most prevalent in those with Type 1 diabetes.

The Swedish National Diabetes Register, in a study headed by Katarina Eeg-Olofsson from the University of Gothenburg studied 7454 Type 1 diabetes sufferers. The study subjects were aged twenty to sixty five years of age and had diabetes between a year and thirty five years. [click to continue…]
