Water and BG.

Does drinking enough-lot of water a way to manage/reduce BGLs? Not sure, but I have heard that from a few people (one of them is a very very accomplished cardiologist).

FACT: When a diabetic patient comes to a doctor and has a very high BG reading (250+) -- the patient is made to drink a lot of water to bring the BG down (so that the doctor can then proceed with the invasive procedure). This is a general practice in many hospitals (heard of multiple doctor acquaintances).

The above doesn't mean that the trick works, but it probably does.

Drinking adequate amount of water flushes out toxins from your body and keeps it overall healthy. Am not sure if it lowers BG but i started consciously having 2 litres of water everyday with 10 minutes of yoga and eating dinner before 7. My fasting BG was 5-10 points lower than usual all those days. Not sure if it was the water or the other things or a combination of all.

When your glucose gets in excess of 200 you will start to spill glucose through your kidneys (danger sign). It changes the chemical make up of your blood and your body will try to rid itself of this situation by excreting lots of fluid. This brings down a high number. Drinking lots of water to get a 130 to under 100 will not work unless your completely flooding your system, which would be unhealthy as well.
