Question Diabetic Exchange Diet - anyone doing it?

Is anyone following the diabetic exchange diet on a daily basis? How is it working for you?

The exchange is the old name although some people still use it.
It's all about carbohydrate counting(low-carbing)now. Many
swear by it for keeping their Diabetes under control and losing
weight along with their usually 5 day-a-week exercises, of course.

When I went to the diabetes training, they taught about exchanges, but after following the Bernstein diet, 15 carbs at a time are way too many.

Hello Cassie. It's Nice to meet you. Wow, you're a Newbie
to Diabetes. I'm Glad to see that you are doing fantastic on
the Bernstein diet. Have you mentioned it to your Students?

I'd be curious to know how a Person with Diabetes who does
rigorous activities, sports and jobs would do on that diet. Or
would they want to? They'd take less Insulin due to the
work-out but I think that they'd still need the extra carbs.

I was informed of the exchanges when I was first diagnosed, however I find it still usually works for me.

I'm very active as a promoter, DJ and professional wrestler, I just find that my intake of insulin and food is monitored and changes everyday.

Efficient alcohol, but not too much. A martini is efficient. :-P A gin and tonic is low in calories. Avoid fruit juice drinks. Liquor with seltzer or tonic... some say w/ diet soda is good but I think it kills you and isn't good for dieting but you will make your own choice.
