Default All Things Calories - Mat Lalonde

ĎAll Things Calories (Calories 101)í...

I'd recommend listening to this podcast from Jimmy Moore's Livin' La Vida Low-Carb.

I have a great deal of time for Mat: he is a biochemist -- a scientist -- who does not seem to have any particular "allegiance" or axe to a grind... he focuses on the facts as he observes them.

jwags, MCS, Daytona and 1 others like this.

Very interesting! I was especially struck by his comment that being overweight, the fat itself, produces inflammation, and inflammation creates (or maybe he said increases) insulin resistance. I've read on both sides of the "does losing weight per se lower insulin resistance" and his comment provides additional insight into that. Thanks for posting this!

Because he also mentions leptin resistance I went to research it a bit, and found this interesting page, which goes on several pages later to talk about the link between leptin, obesity, and inflammation. Leptin Resistance
