Firstly there are differences between Type 1 and Type 2
Diabetics, as you know. Although Type 1's can eat a lot of foods that they can cover sugar-wise with Insulin, that doesn't mean that they should be eating a lot it. Type 2's have a harder time since they have to be more physical and eat healthier foods just to try and keep their sugars down without drugs. Small portions are important. I am a Type 1 and I do eat mostly what I want since I can counteract it with a shot of Insulin. The important fact is though, I eat only small portions. I also eat 4 times a day. I do not low carb but I will be looking into a few meals there. I do exercise twice a day for 30 minutes each time to get the heart pumping. So in all I use less Insulin. Drinking your 8-10 glasses of water is also important for getting rid of some of the sugar in your system, to help flush the kidneys, to keep a person's cells working properly, to keep a Person hydrated, etc. |
