New evidence in fructose debate: Could it be healthy for us?

Oyez . . . definitely for diabetics . . . "was released today in the July issue of Diabetes Care". Still looking for who funded this effort to obfuscate the truth . . .

1) Wonder who sponsored the research for this article?
2) Also wonder what David Mendosa will think after he reads this
article. He seems to have some strong feelings against fructose.

"The study reviewed 18 trials with 209 participants who had Type 1 and 2 diabetes and found fructose significantly improved their blood sugar control....."

Ummmmm. How can anyone draw any conclusions based on so many trials with so few participants in the first place? This is not representative of anything.

We are right, they are not. Eat to your meter - it tells the tale.

Effect of Fructose on Glycemic Control in Diabetes

Well there is the abstract, anyhow ... but I think this is a load of baloney!

i find things like this really scary! People who don't know the truth might be innocent enough to believe this. Looks like some blood pressure was raised!

Generalizability may be limited because most of the trials were <12 weeks and had relatively low MQS (<8).
I surmise that MQS stands for mimimum quality standards?

Somebody going to a lotta trouble to get fructose off the hook, eh?

The abstract in Linda's link has a link to the study details, where there is a list of sponsors, including the Calorie Control Council, an organisation that represents the interests of companies that produce low-calorie foods.

Here is a list of those companies.
