This was query, for one ... not a posted link.

Because this person is clever enough to be on FB, started referring to to the horrible injury done by ketones, as being akin to that done by hydrochloric acid ... whatever.

May not exactly fit the bill, but these articles talk about LC ketogenic diets & the various benefits thereof.

I GAVE UP. These women could not be persuaded. Two of them, one even claims you can go into dka from a hypo (more likely overtreatment of hyper -- but in any event POOR CONTROL) -- and another finally "confessed" she had gone into dka from severe dehydration.

Now a lot of peripheral neuropathy is coming out of the closet .... take care of yourselves, PEOPLE!!!

I once had a co-worker, a Type 1 diabetic, who fancied himself an "expert" on this topic; as far as he was concerned, there was no difference between ketosis and ketoacidosis, and flatly declared that low-carb diets were dangerous.

Me, I have stopped paying attention to what people say on FB about diabetes, as they all seem to buy into the "low fat, plenty of whole grains" mindset.

The other LCers backed away from them, one of the HCers even said she "was worried about me!" SHE was citing the ADA, I was citing PubMed articles. Clearly neither of us was listening to the other, but what is pathetic is, among OLDER articles, there are articles (mostly case studies, which is to say, "well it is RARE but it happens," -- notably with extenuating circumstance such as dehydration, etc, which of course ppl ignore!) that substantiate them!!!

My favorite is the NYPO one -- imagine someone running high for a long time, rage bolusing, and being found unconscious ... and being in DKA. WELL OF COURSE they are!!!
