OK So the lettuce can produce the insulin. So what about the immune system and those killer T cells that attack the islet cells that houses the insulin as this is what causes the diabetes in the first place.
This newly found insulin may have a better match to the human body and therefore a more stable glucose control. If we can get to help the islet cell to survive from the beta cell that can ward off the rouge killer T cell from the immune system then we may have a cure. Developed insulin is just half of the cure.

Yes, that would be Great if it worked. Most things are worth trying. They didn't mention if or how these capsules will bypass the digestive system though. If you see any updates please post them Richard. Thanks.
