Good advice! When friends want pizza we do the hut. I love their garlic Parmesan wings ( 2 wings per g carb) ! Some of those and a Tuscan salad with extra banana peppers and pepperoni slices fills the bill nicely.

Good to have you back, Tracy!

I have to do the same with pizza as I do with burritos, etc. - eat the filling/toppings & leave the bready vehicle they come with. Even at home, I can no longer tolerate wraps, and a wonderful yeasty pizza crust sends me into orbit. As jwags says, nibbling doesn't help . . . I just nibble/nibble/nibble and before I know it, the crust is nibbled completely away. That's the carb addition for ye!

Scrapping the crust on that first slice would be a good test & I'll bet you might be able to clear this hurdle by eating none but the toppings.

You doing okay? How's Mrs. Tracy? Sure good to see you again!

My sweet wife is doing well and managing her D very well. It's nice to have a partner to share our battle with. Althought after 3 hours when I was still pushing 200bg. She was only 140. So today starts another battle against the dreaded pizza.

clea, I make my own at home. I've tried several crusts, but haven't found the perfect one yet, but cauliflower and mozzarella do okay, but it's the toppings I love anyway. Now and then, my kids want pizza when they visit, so I go with them to eat it and just get a large bowl of salad and then take several slices and peel the topping off and put it all on one slice and eat that.

I don't trust myself enough with it! I think it would be the one food to knock me off the wagon so I don't go there... lol! Thanks for the suggestions though Pat, may give them a go when the willpower is stronger :P

I ate my first pizza in 1969. Pizza was a quite unknown dish in Sweden before that time and there were no pizza restaurants. Just managed to survive without pizza until I was 22. Well, I don´t actually miss pizza now. What I miss is some ordinary food like potatoes, bread and lots of fruit. And just have to admit at times ice cream and sweets.

I don't tend to focus on what I can't have, but focus on what I can have

Although what I really miss deep down, is a chip buttie with tomato sauce
