Default Advantages & Disadvantages of CRM...?

My last A1C was 6.2, and many of my readings are good, but I still get highs and lows everyday. Thankfully, I don’t have severe lows without noticing. I spoke to my doctor about going on a CGM, and she said that she wouldn’t strongly recommend it because 1) I am not a risk patient for extreme lows that I don’t feel and 2) it doesn’t make life much easier because I’d still have to do many finger sticks and her experience with many patients is that they think it’s great then come back and say they don’t like it. In spite of that, I still think it would be a great tool for me to use to stay in check, avoid highs, lows and lower BG standard deviations (especially since I am planning to get pregnant in the near future). I am seeking advice from people who used the CRM systems – is it helpful or frustrating, especially considering that I already wear a pump and have to carry that around all day? Does it really make a different in day-to-day control and A1C or do you tend to micro-mange diabetes by looking at this device all the time? Any insights and experiences will be much appreciated! Also, I am concerned that the alarms will sound all the time- can they be put on silent? Thank you!
