Thank you for that subtle hint, MaryAlice. The list of abbreviations is a sticky posted at the top of the General Diabetes board. We wanted to make sure we hid it in the darkest depths of the cellar.

sounds yummy.
Any chance you already have the nutrition stats calculated for it?

See if this works: Nutrition Facts and Analysis for Granola from Janey (1/2 cup serving)

It should say 1/14 of recipe for a serving . . . NutritionData is driving me nuts lately . . . very balky app anymore. It used to be SO efficient.

Bookmark this page. It has most of the abbreviations you will see here.

Hope that helps.

Default Breakfast Mix

Okay, made this today and gotta say it is the best breakfast mix, "granola" I've had since Dx - well maybe the best I've ever had. Thanks so much Shanny.

I felt hungry so had half a cup with a dollop of pure cream. My numbers:

Before: 4.3
1hr PP: 5.0
2hr PP: 4.3

If you haven't tried it yet, make it, you won't be disappointed.

Freya, are all these ingredients easily available here? Is there any Oz translation?

Sandra I bought all of the nuts and seeds at the health food shop. Instead of the desiccated coconut meat I used Banaban Organic Coconut Crunch which is natural air dried coconut meat (also from the health food shop).

The Walden Farm syrup I buy on line (Brisbane) with lots of other goodies we can't get here from:

Low Carb Foods Store in Australia - Low Carb Central

You will love it - even if you don't want to eat it as cereal (bowl, spoon, cream, lol) it would be great to use as a 'trail mix' snack for work.

Thanks Freya. I will look into all that. Breakfast is my struggle time so it might just work. Or the toasted low carb bread with butter. I just can't overdo the eggs!

By the way - does the bread freeze well?

Yes, it's fine. It arrived beautifully fresh and I kept one to use (straight away!) and put the others in the freezer. I just pop them into the fridge to defrost and they're good to go.
