Default Which type is this diabetes please?

my question about diferrent types of diabetes
what is the diferrence between type I and type II insulin depended
and if someone was diagnosed at the age of 40 , well the doctor didnt require to know which type he started witht he pills like sidophage not sure if it is known allover the world, but anyway they did no good to him , few months later he started getting insulin shots and it did a great job to him , but it was only one shot a day and that was probably before lunch and it was 40 units , but once he started taking insulin his doctor stopped the pills and it showed no diferrence , all what he need is one shot of insulin , his sugar level sometimes become high with the shot and sometimes if eh didnt eat well it become very low 70 or something , and when he usually tests after eating and taking his inuslin the sugar is nothing lower than 200 or 230 .
now my questiond oes this sound type I or type II ?

It could be either type, more information is needed before we can tell. An endocrinologist (diabetes specialist) should be consulted. The appropriate tests would be done and the correct diagnosis made. Good luck!

Last year only I was diaognise with this disease, My physician started experimenting with drugs and doses to bring my BG to desired level and finally we arrived upon fixation of drug and the doses. Currently I m on glimparide 2 mg and Metformin 1000 mg. daily. Now my query is whether I have go type 1 diabetes or type 2. is there any test to know the exact disorder? is my diabetes insulin dependent of cell resistance type? Can anybody help me in coming out of this confusion?

Thanx in advance.

Jitna, you have not told us anything about yourself. We cannot answer your questions if we do not know your symptoms or the results of the tests that have been done. Your doctor will have tests done that will determine your type of diabetes. We do not make a diagnosis, we are not doctors. We can answer questions after your diagnosis is made. Good luck to you!
