How can I resolve my neuropathy due to type 2 diabetes?

Hello,

I am experiencing neuropathy, I have type 2 diabetes, diagnosed March 2005, I do not have good glucose control and the doctors are recommending gastric bypass surgery, I would like to exhaust all other avenues before this last resort, I would like to hear some suggestions. Thanks, Let's give Life Hope

The overweight and high sugar combined are always going to cause complications after enough time has passed. I had some mild neuropathy and retinopathy but when I tightened my control even more and stopped having frequent high blood sugar, my complications disappeared. I have now been diabetic for 64 years and I do not have diabetes complications. Getting rid of your overweight may be the only way to eliminate complicatiuons. If you cannot do that by diet, exercise and medication then the bypass may be the only way. Good luck to you!
