Default Crazy Kind of day

just thought i share my very bizarre day I had the other day. It started out with me falling hard on the ice banging up my hand and my knee. Took sugar an hour after lunch and it was 90 ( i tend to have numbers around 140 at this time). As I was driving home I started to sweat and get lightheaded. Took a reading when I got home at 3:45 and it was 44 (lowest number ever had). Drank OJ check 10 minutes later 58. Ate handful of Chex Mix and some peanuts checked 45 minutes later and 207. An hour later after mopping floors at another job it was 253.
Ate dinner out. Came home and hit the steps (up and down). Knee killing me I wanted to do atl east 1250 steps. Not sure what motivated me but did a personal best of 4500 steps (previous best 2500). Got a shower. Took another reading 71. Got my bedtime snack of two scoops of peanut butter to go with my nightime Levemir shot. Needless to say it was Just one of those days in the life of a diabetic LOL. Oh by the way 8 days until baby EMMA is due for those of you who know I have another child on the way

Default Six kids?

I hope you did not hurt your knee and hand too much. Did you go to a hospital for Xrays? You may have torn some tendons or ligaments and should wear a cast for awhile.

A glucose tablet will raise my blood sugar 12 points. If I dropped as low as 44 I would be 46 points below my target (my target is 90). Therefore I would want to raise my blood sugar 44 points. Four glucose tablets would raise me 48 points so that is what I would eat. Doing it this way keeps me from going very high. I test every time I feel a little unusual so i can almost always discover when I am going low and handle the situation before it gets any worse.

So will this be your sixth child? Congratulations? I had a hard time, financially speaking, sending my two kids to college. I cannot imagine how I woulld have done that with five or six kids!!!

Thank you for your concern. My hand and knee felt fine the next day. Thank you also for the info about the glucose tablets. I do need to go and buy some just in case i have one of those lows. I have never been anywhere that low so I guess I just wasn't prepared. Learn from your mistakes right. Yes this child number six for my wife, actually my fourth. I have 4 boys 17, 15, 12, 8 and a daughter 5 along with a girl due FEB 11 or perhaps sooner : )
