Hey Merien:

First off, I'll just mention that too many people/medical Professionals
think that Mercola is not playing with a full deck...whether that is
true or not, I don't know. Maybe he is the genius......and no one
knows it yet.

I'm not sure what you are asking here. I would say that many Dr's.
are clueless about their Patients having Diabetes, Yes. 1 in 3? I
doubt it. I disagree with the sentence in the quotation marks.

I would like to comment on what he said about Drs. putting their
Type 2 Patients on Insulin though.

Most Type 2's are over-weight which puts a lot of stress on the
pancreas so it is over-worked. The Patient is supposed to follow
a diet, lose weight and exercise. This can keep them off oral meds.
for a Very long time. This is not a cure but it will stall the process
of the Diabetes from getting worse for some time.

If they do not follow this regimen(and Yes, I know it it Very hard
for some to do)then their sugars get out of control. When the
sugars are out of control for too long, that is what damages the
body and organs. (Some Type 2's just don't want to follow the
necessary regimen). Then the Drs. have to put their Patients on
the oral meds. first, to help get their sugars under control. If the
drugs eventually stop working then the Patients have to
be put on Insulin to help them out. These Type 2's were already
Insulin Resistant long before they were put on Insulin however
because of the extra weight. (I also think that in some cases
the extra weight and IR originally started from a faulty gene in
their body).

There are some Drs. recently, who after discussing it with their
Patients have put them on Insulin first to get their sugars under
control and then put them on oral meds. afterwards. I do not
know what results came of this since I have heard no more of it
and I'm not a Type 2 so I haven't looked into it. If anyone would
like to correct me on this subject(or on any subject for that matter)
please feel free. I don't bite. Sorry, this is so long.
