My goal with the basal insulin is to drop my fasting blood sugar down from 130, 140 down to 100. When I started on a low dose of basal my FBG went down to 112 or so. I continued to increase the dose and now it is back up again. My question is, why? You would think a higher dose would drop the FBG levels to a lower number. Can someone help, because I am not sure if I should up my dose again and see if I can bring it down or keep it where it is and see what happens.
Your Thoughts,

Again, what are your numbers in the middle of the night? (for me 2-3 a.m.). That's kindof a limiting factor. If you are getting to low 80s or in the 70s at all, then you have maximized your long acting insulin. I also had a goal of getting under 110, but just doesn't look like that is going to happen, at least until I try the LCHF change in May. I'm finally out of the FBG 160s so while not happy, I'll take anything under 140.
