Default High Bg in the morning

No matter what I do. Eat don't eat, insulin no insulin. It seems like the insulin quites working after dinner.
High in the A.M. good through-out the day. After dinner okay. I take a pre-bedtime reading, take some Novolog if necessary, and it will be higher in the morning . Thanks

What are you eating? Are you still on Atkins?

Try to test during the night to see when your rise is. Leave the meter in the bathroom ready for when you get up in the middle of the night. It may tell you a lot about whats going on.

Depending on when your rising and your sleeping pattern you may be able to just leave some type of snack to eat and then go back to bed. Mine use to rise after I got up a much easier problem to correct than having it rise at 4-5am.

I am on Lantus and Humalog. My Diabetes doctor told me to adjust my morning BG with the basal dose of Lantus. I eat about 20g of carbs per day and use 15 units of Lantus at bedtime to main my morning BG. I do not eat a bedtime snack, but used to when I was eating a higer carb diet. I rarely use my bolus Humalog, since my before meal BG is under 120.
