Default first A1C results

First A1C test result since diagnosis in Jan 09.

5.8

Most websites I've looked through seem to point to 7 as a threshhold between normal and abnormal, is this correct?

5.8 is a great A1c, my last one 3 months ago was 6.4. I just went for a test this morning, we'll see what this one is. I won't know for a week, as this blood test was for my cardiologist, and his appointment is next week. And yes, part of his testing is my A1c, as well as my endo's office. I don't see my endo until the 25th of Aug.

That is a very good A1c Dan. My most recent A1c is also 5.8. The ADA maintains that 7.0 or less is a good A1c but A1c's less than 6.0 are onsidered a nondiabetic level. So you and I have a nondiabetic level BG average. Let's try our best to keep it that way.
