This is much like a AA meeting. Sorry Richard but the message is a beacon to those who just been diagnosed since that depression is apart of this disease sadly.

Positive thoughts.

Hey Peter...

Yes depression is a HUGE start to the disease along with all the other wonderful ( haha) parts of being diagnosed at first... BUT I think that how you handle it after that is up to you.. I have tried hard to not let it get me down.. I have had to change many things that for over 30 years was able to enjoy. I am still learning .. and the only depression I had was the fact that the only thing about being a diabetic that I knew was my dad and I watched him go through so much that I was scared for myself that would happen. I know now that it will ONLY happen if I don't take care of myself.
