New type 2
Was diagnosed as a type 2 about a month ago. Have not been put on any medicine, opting for lifestyle changes (low fat, no sugar, low GI carbs predominantly, with daily exercise). Monitoring BS once/day, morning pre-meal. My blood sugar is averaging 125 since I began testing (had a fasting blood test of 200 when diagnosed), with no reading over 120 in the last 2 weeks. No A1c taken yet, scheduled to have one in 2 months. Currently on HCT and lisinopril for blood pressure, have asked Doctor to remove/replace the HCT. I have a family history of diabetes (mother, grandmother, aunt) and so it really wasnt much of a surprise.

Welcome to the board, sorry to hear about your DX, My name is Martina and i am a Type 2 Diabetic Since July 2005. i am on Two different Oral Diabetes Meds. if you need anything at all please let me know thanks
