Hi all

I had the "luck" getting diabetes typ 1 late in life. I was 27 years old when I got it.

It hard to present myself... What can I tell? I have a lovely family. We are liveing in a house almost in the countryside but very close to the city. Sparetime I´m not haveing much due to two small children and full-time work.

This is all for now. If any of you, for some reason would like to know someting you can always ask a queston.

It's Nice to meet you. Sorry that you were diagnosed with Diabetes.
It's certainly hard enough looking after a Family without a disease.

Well, a 90 year old would not call age 27, late in Life. Now-a-days
People in their 50's are getting Type 1 also. It sounds like you have a
Wonderful Life otherwise. That's Good. Actually, if I had to change
countries, Sweden would be one of the first places that I would consider
moving to. But I guess you knew that.

What type of work do you do? Do you find your work much harder to
do now that you have Diabetes? How old are your Children? What
Insulin do you use? Do you use a pump? If so, what one?

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask. We will certainly try
our Best to answer them for you.

Hi Terrie,

I actually got diabetes 2000. Forgot to write that. I got my first dauter in March 2004 and my second dauter in September 2005. It all went very well and they were born without any sign of my diabetes.

Two weeks ago I started pumping Humalog insuling with my Cozmo pump. I already love it although I´m not ready with my doses yet.

I have a good familylife and i work with Logistic managment at Ericsson in Stockholm. What are you doing?

Hello Rosebud! Welcome to our site. If you answer Terrie's questions we can get to know you better and offer better advice too. I have had type 1 for 62 years and I am very healthy. If you have very good control then you greatly increase your chances of having a long, healthy life without serious complications. Good luck!

Sorry, I took so long. I just got back from our week-end trip.
Wow, I can imagine you being busy with 2 little ones plus a job
and Husband to look after plus all the social planning and activities.
I'm Glad to hear that your Little Girls don't have Diabetes. My Son
and Daughter don't have Diabetes either(Thank God, touch wood).

Ericsson sounds like a Good company to work at. I hope that you
enjoy it. Goodness, I had to retire many years ago since I was dxd.
with severe RA and I'm still struggling with that disease. I've looked
after my Family and looked after other People's Kids and did volunteer
work at my pace after I was dxd. I've also been helping on Diabetes
sites since 2002.

The Cozmo sounds like a Good pump from what I've heard. I guess
they are all decent pumps as long as a Person doesn't get one that malfunctions. My Husband's company's group insurance would pay
for mine plus all the accessories but I'm doing fine without it so I
know it would be a waste of their money since I wouldn't use it.

It usually takes 2 or 3 months to get your pump and the right doses
working for you. I hope that you do well with it. Richard has been
on a pump for some time and doing Good.
