I have had sympton of diabetes for 14 years and from what I understand it is not common to be able to stay of meds that long. I try to maintian a diet that I got from a nutrition class I attended. I also spent about 40 minutes 3 times a week exercising. Looking forward to participating in discussions.

Hi Bleew:
![]() We're Glad to see you participating and doing Well. You say you've had symptoms of Diabetes but didn't say if you were dxd. with Diabetes. Symptoms from other conditions often can be misinterpreted as those of Diabetes. You need specific tests to be dxd. That being said, perhaps not common but certainly it can be done for a Type 2 who is Very proactive. My Uncle is a Type 2 for 24 years and has never taken drugs for it. Just heathy diet, weight-loss, daily exercise and bi-yearly Endo tests/check-ups. I have come across other Type 2's who are also proactive and on no drugs. Keep up your Proactive Lifestyle and confident attitude. It should take you a long way. Edit: Sorry, I stand corrected. I've talked to my 2nd Cousin and she said my Uncle has been on drugs for Type 2 for the past 10 yrs. and recently on Insulin. Last edited by Terrie : 01-04-2008 at 04:16. |
