- Biography:
- I am a mother of 2 children, 18-yr. boy in college and 5-yr daughter in kindergarden. I am currently not working due to a recent cross-country move but my background is in travel. I love to read, particularly Jodi Picoult novels, exercise and cook.
- Location:
- I live in Stafford, VA, USA
- On the internet:
- I mostly use the internet for email but often check out news articles (I'm a news junkie) and cooking websites for new recipes.
- Your experiences with diabetes:
- Diabetes has made me be much more aware of my health than I was before. The most thing about having it is that I do not take anything in life for granted. I treasure the fact that I can still live a normal, healthy, fulfilling life, unlike that of other illnesses. My most negative experience with it was in Sept. of 2007 when I went into DKA. Almost died - pretty scary stuff. The best thing I did was switch to the pump last summer. I don't know why I was always to afraid of it because now I love it! As far as managing BG, I've become very good at counting carbs and I do check my blood levels about 6 times per day.
