- Biography:
- I am a man (56) , happily married, and living in the country. My hobbies are homebrewing, but in light of diabetes, I may have to change that.
- Location:
- United States
- On the internet:
- My favorite web-sites are my local library, Sermon audio, a local bulletin board, Gutenberg, Christian Classics Ethereal Library, and a variety of Christian web sites.
- Your experiences with diabetes:
- I never gave diabetes a thought. I knew that sometimes I got faint and sweaty and that food or O.J. would fix me. A few months or weeks ago, I noticed my vision was blurred. It seemed to get worse daily but when I went to my eye doctor, he told me something else was wrong and I need to see my doctor. Yesterday she told me that I have diabetes, not just a little but a lot. Even though I suspected it for a while, I was surprised because I am so healthy in every other way. My blood pressure is 117 over 72, I'm 5' 11" and weigh @ 175 lbs.
I naturally eat slow, choose small portions, and prefer vegetables and fruit. Except for two or three sodas a day and milk and cookies, I'm not big into deserts. I also like a few beers a day and brew my own. I suppose I won't be able to enjoy that anymore.
