This moisturizing mouth gel is especially made for persons suffering from mouth dryness. The leading cases of dry mouth problems are listed below.
1. Sjögren’s Syndrome – This is an autoimmune syndrome. The immune cells destroy and attack the exocrine glands that make saliva and tears. This disorder often affects women in their late 40s but generally affects all age brackets in both men and women.
2. Diabetes – This is a syndrome of muddled metabolism. Usually, this syndrome is a combination of environmental and hereditary causes. This results in high blood sugar levels or hyperglycemia. Diabetic patients may experience dry mouth in some point of their treatment.
3. Vitamin Deficiencies – Vitamin B deficiency is the most common deficiency that affects the teeth and mouth. Burning sensations inside the mouth, particularly in the tongue area, can be felt by people suffering from vitamin B deficiency. Moreover, persons with vitamin B deficiency frequently find it difficult to swallow.
4. Drug Therapy
5. Radiation Therapy – Persons who underwent radiation therapy as a cure for tumors can suffer long-term mouth and throat dryness because of reduced salivary gland activity. Tear glands and salivary glands both have radiation tolerance of approximately 30 Gy in 2 fractions of Gy. This dose is mainly exceeded during neck and head cancer treatments. Dry mouth or “xerostomia” and dry eyes or “xerophthalmia” can become irritating problems and reduce the patient’s value of life. On the other hand, sweat glands particularly in the armpits tend to stop working when exposed to radiation.
6. Stress
7. Depression
8. Some Cases of Lamber-Eaton Myasthenic Syndrome (LEMS) – This is an autoimmune disorder that rarely occurs on people. The syndrome affects the calcium channels of the neuromuscular nerve-muscle junction. The disease is somewhat similar to “Myasthenia Gravis” though there are considerable differences between the pathological features and clinical presentation of the 2.

Shirley Rowden:
You didn’t list the most common cause of dry mouth which prescription drugs. Nearly every medication available today has dry mouth listed as one of the side effects and this product doesn’t last me 6 hours.
