Hey you guys!

With our Belgian forum, we have meetings once in a while. Our forum exists 1 year and a couple of monts, and we have met one another on several occasions. Of course, our country is much smaller, so distances aren't that big a deal.

Do you have any suggestions on what to do during meetings? We have organised a bowling day with the children (who have D) and at the end of this month, we are having a New Year's celebration. We also had a day at the zoo, and one near the lake.

What do you do on meetings?

Hey Peter!

Do you have a group of diabetics near where you live, that come together once in a while?

England isn't that far off for me. So I would consider coming to a meeting if there would be one. You live a little bit further away though :p But you never know right? A friend of mine (who had D too) is moving to Byron Bay soon. Maybe I'll come visit her one day.

My Friend and I were going to meet some other Diabetic Friends at Niagara Falls, Ont. but that fell apart since some of their vacation times didn't match the meet time.

I like bowling. Swimming at the lake is Fun and picnics/bbq in a park then usually some parks have the free concerts in the evening. Dances in the evening, wave pools, the Casino, renting tables at a restaurant near the water or falls or meeting at a popular museum or if you happen to have a castle in the area.....that would be cool.

Well, we could all meet from this Forum. Peter has already agreed to pay for the plane tickets anywhere that we want to meet....even England. Right Peter?? He's such a Nice Lad. :D

I'm about 2 hours from Ricky by car and about 6 hours from Richard and probably Meg also.

There are online friends all over the world I would love to meet. Some of them in England have offered to pick my wife and me up at their airport and have us spend nights with them. So what's stopping me? My wife hates travel. that is the problem. She would be terribly frightened if I take such a trip by myself and she hates the idea of going with me. I would not do that to her since I would know how much she would worry. I am stuck staying home. Flying to Atlanta to see our kids and grandkids once each year is all the travel she wants. I want to travel to see the world and my friends. What can I do??? <sigh>
