Default Low-carb snacks for kids

<long post deleted - essentially posting the question about appropriate snacks for kids, given their exercise at school, seeing other kids eat high-carb snacks, and insulin needs for T1s>

I'd go for 3 meals a day and NO SNACKS.
SNACKS are optional and not needed even for children.

I'd be interested in this too.
My kids go to school, where snacks are given.
How do I send snacks that will be better for them, yet not make them feel wierd? and how to help them deal with the fact that the other kids are eating chips/pretzels/cookies for snack time? Yesterday they had fruit loops with milk for snack time for heaven's sake!

This may apply or may not but we keep our grandkids pretty much all the time. They range in age from 1-6yrs old. The snacks of choice in our house are the Voortman Cookies. Especially the Flax brand and Oatmeal Raisin. Fairly low in carbs for an active kid, 10g per large cookie.

Low carb muffins are easy to make, as are shortbread and biscuits (cookies) using almond flour base. All less than 10g of total carbohydrate. See the recipe section for ideas, or check out some of the almond flour recipe books on Amazon.
