BGLs are all over the shop, can only eat some foods and not suffer. One of those is mashed potato. Don't have it much but gawd I am so sick of pureed chicken and veggie soup. It will be mash tonight.
Try insisting on a stomach acid test. It is available, but doctors hardly ever do it. They simply view acid as the offender and call out the Rambo drugs to neutralize it. Bad idea. Short-term symptoms of low stomach acid and high stomach acid are almost identical. Low stomach acid is now believed by many to be FAR more common than high. Low stomach acid causes a long list of problems including some long-range problems which are very serious like leaky gut, excessive endo-toxins and auto-immune disorders. If you have it and you take a PPI, that will make everything WORSE, even though it may "feel" better in the short run by decreasing any acid that makes its way up.

Ask your doctor about the possibility of low stomach acid. If he doesn't acknowledge that it exists, think you're crazy or just refuses to test - FIND ANOTHER DOCTOR.

And, there's a lot more if you Google [low stomach acid] from many sources.
