protein in urine

hello, i now have protein in my urine. it's miniscule though. the level of my microalbumin is 2.5. the normal is 2 and below. i don't think i have UTI. my nephrologist prescribed me a lisinopril 2.5 mg to take every day. has anyone experienced this and still dealing with protein in their urine? please share your experiences. thanks.

I had protein in my urine at diagnosis and also untill 2 months later.. But the doctor told me that it was a false positive and once I kept my A1C under 6 for a few months it would go away.

And it did so another 2 months later.

Lisinopril is a BP medication which also "protects" the kidneys. So it may help you with your BP as well. If you dont have high BP it may lower your BP a bit too.

I would really suggest you get your A1C into the 5% range soon...

my blood sugar is in control. yet i keep seeing foaming bubbles in my pee. what's your average blood sugar? did you have to change your diet? did you eat less carbs and less protein?
