Diabetes and Sciatica

Does anyone have experience with sciatica caused by diabetes? For the past month I've been having what seems like typical sciatica issues, but the thing that bothers me is the tingling in my toes and the pads on the bottom of my feet.

I have an appointment next week with my endo, but I wonder if anyone else has had this.

Prone to a pinched nerve????? That sounds a bit weird.

I have a pinched nerve in my lower back, but it's not because of diabetes. It's because of lifting too heavy stuff for too long. And that was at least 20 years before developing diabetes.

I had similar symptoms in the beginning and because of ignorance didn't take heed that this was a warning that I was hurting my back.

Rest and exercises have eventually relieved enough of the problem that I'm mostly pain-free if I'm careful about what I do.

They were in a book called "Pain Free" by Pete Egoscue He is a sports physical therapist (if I remember correctly).

The "exercises" are more like repositioning stances than actively bending or stretching. There are exercises for all parts of the body - shoulders, hips, knees, back, etc. They are easy on the joints and back and, for me and the friends I've lent the book to, extremely helpful. I can't recommend the book more highly.

I first found it in our local library, but I wasn't very far into it when I ordered it from Amazon.
