I'm watching Chopped. Chia seeds were given as an ingredient. All 3 chefs used it to crust their pork loin. Has anyone tried that?

I'm watching Chopped right now too!! It is the new one....they have flank steak and sour cherries though so you must be watching an older episode.

Hmmm, I wouldn't have thought of using Chia Seeds as a crust. What was the judges response to it??? I just might try it, problem is it really doesn't have any flavor on its own....

The judges all liked it. One chef put his in a blender with cheese curls and used it that way. Not an option for most of us. The other chef just used straight chia. 3rd one I walked out of the room for a sec don't know if she mixed it with something or not. When explaining it the host said it was in the mint family. It was used during the main course. Show was called Chopped British Invasion.
