Default concerns

Hi. I am new and thought you guys could share some insight. I can eat whole wheat, drink milk and eat a lot of fruit without bringing my numbers up. I am usually at 70-120 (I have a harder time keeping my numbers up than down). I was worried that maybe I am in a honeymoon period. Is it a possibility that my numbers may spike later due to these foods?

Also I have been trying other drinks to try and get away from milk (I drink a gallon a day), and can't find any I like. I am getting used to water and trying to get used to unsweetened tea. I seem to hate all forms of artificial sweetener. I can put them in baked goods or sweets but not in drinks. I can't get used to diet soda's or those powders you can put in water. I would love suggestions. Thank you in advance and hopefully I didn't ask to many questions.

Some more information required please (1) How old are you (2) What is the level of physical activity (3) Have LADA & Type 1 been ruled out. Were there tests carried out to determine this. (4) Diet and eating patterns.

I just know they took a blood test and told me it was type 2 diabetes and the metformin works well. I started out with being diagnosed with high blood sugar as a kid. I think it was hyperglycemia? I haven't even heard of LADA. Diabetes runs in my family. My mom, late grandmother on my dad's side and brother has type 2. I eat regular meals 3 times a day. I don't usually snack around much. Mostly eat proteins, dairy, whole wheat, fruit, oatmeal. I try to eat veggies but hate them. The foods I eat don't affect my blood sugar much. I test myself often. My activity is mostly just cleaning house and preparing for my move. I don't exercise (I know I should). I am also 28.

Welcome to the forum. It is likely what doesn't spike you now will later. When do you test after eating these? Some things show signs one hour after the first bite and others 3-4 hours after the first bite. Oat meal last time I ate it sent me from 120 to over 250 mg/dL in first hour and still over 200 at 2 hours.

Think I've had this since 2003. Told I was Type 2 lean on 2/13/12.

I don't recommend a gallon a day, but have you tried unsweetened almond milk? Every brand tastes different to me, if you don't like one brand, you might like another.
