Default Gas-X Ingredients

I use Gas-X a lot because of either IBS symptoms or just feelings of bloat and perhaps wheat intolerance....I just took some because I did something stupid last evening and ate a few bites of regular pasta and a very small heel piece of italian bread slathered with butter. Today I am definitely feeling the ill effects of it on my digestive and intestinal system. I am trying to not leave work early, but I've been in and out of the restroom a few times already, and my stomach is just aching and bloated. I took a couple of the quick dissolve strips of Gas-X and happened to read the ingredients. Did you know it contains modified corn starch, maltodextrin, sorbitol and sucralose? How in the heck is that supposed to help me?

Just goes to show that everything can affect you.

Weird. I sympathize with you, I get horrible heartburn and gas after eating bread.

Really, you get heartburn from bread? Then again, I have gotten heartburn, or acid reflux from drinking water.

I really am not liking this aging process thing. Is it too much to ask to just feel good? I don't even mind if I don't feel great, but good would be nice. I'm tired of feeling a bit unmotivated, bloated, aching tummy, overactive intestinal system, ears hurt, face hurts (sinuses), neck hurts, and legs feel heavy. Wow, it sounds worse when I type it out.

Oh well, hang in there right? That's all I can do for now.

I can't 'like' your first post, Renee . . . because I don't like it! It's awful that products marketed to help contain such toxic ingredients.

I can't even help with your second post, because Mom always said aging is not for sissies, and I finally understand exactly what she meant.

Adding insult to injury, I went in to renew my drivers license today, and while she apologized for asking, the clerk asked how old I am, because I might be old enough to not need my birth certificate to renew. Turns out I am old enough, and my voter registration card was sufficient.

Oh Shanny! ((((hugs))))) There could be worse things than being "old" enough....like the alternative!!!

And I totally agree with your Momma....aging is definitely not for the faint of heart for sure!!!! I guess I'll have to pull out my big guns and get on with it already.

It ain't all fun but it beats the alternative. I often think of how my husband would have given so much to have had my 7 years after his 67 years.

I swear, I thought my warranty expired the year I turned 40. Hypothyroidism, pre-diabetic, needed orthotics... But I feel better now than I have since I was 25, so things are looking up!

Feeling old is when your in the gym with 2, 29 yr old hulks and out lifting them and feeling good about yourself until one of them says "I sure wish I am in that good of shape when I'm your age", poof my bubble burst.

NayNay my wife has had stomach trouble for avery long time. She had Gall Bladder surgery when she was in her 20's. The surgery left her with scar tissue. SHe had to be reopened and the scar tissue removed because her stomach and small intestine shut down on her. Long story short I had done some research and the easy things can make a big difference. 3 times a day breakfast, lunch, dinner. 1 Simethicone pill, 1 Aciddolphilus pill, 1 magnesium oxide pill, did wonders for her. The simethicone reduces the size of the bubbles allowing them to pass, the acidolphilus is a digestion aide, and the magnesium brings more water into the intestines. This therapy is used for people that have small bowel obstructions.

I think it was mmkie that put a link regarding probiotics specifically for IBS problems. I am going out tomorrow to get them and begin taking them. The two enzymes listed are not in my probiotic that I take now. I believe that one helps my immunity, but I definitely think I need one specifically for digestion and intestional health.
