Default Low Carb Diet Advice please

Im a type one diabetic in desperate need of some control of my condition! Download this app has been a huge help!

Im looking at trying a low carb approach as I feel not only would it aid my control but also help me loose weight which will help too! (Im not obese but am still carrying extra baby weight from my pregnancy.. 2 years ago *blush*)

Any advice would be helpfull, especially seen as Im not the worlds best veg eater!

The low-carb way of eating would replace the missing carbs with fats. Good-for-you saturated fats and oils like coconut oil and olive oil.

One would keep proteins at a moderate level. This is because excess proteins above what is needed for body maintainance is converted to glycogen and stored in the liver, to be released at a later time as glucose. An unwanted source of glucose that is difficult if not impossible to anticipate or regulate.

It is not necessary to fill up with vegetables. One should use fats to feel satisfied. Fats will stay with you a long time, they don't raise BG and therefore there is no need to cover with insulin.

If you like salads and make them with dark-greens and some spinach (fresh parsley is a very good source of nutrition), then eat salads - with plenty of fatty dressings, of course, and maybe eggs and olives?

There's ways around most people's likes and dislikes when it comes to LCHF way of eating.
