how can you get the oil to mix in with the ingeredents you are useing.

you need an emulsifier (sp) a small amount of mustard will do.

Egg white works too - that's basically what mayonnaise is, vinegar, oil & eggs.

Just mix the vinegar & whatever other seasonings you're using in with the egg, and then slowly pour in the oil in a thin stream while you keep whipping the egg mixture.

i don t know what a emulsifser is. i will keep the mustard in mind. i thank you.

I just mix herbs and seasonings with some balsamic vinegar (NOT vinaigrette!) and then add a little bit of oil. Sure it separates, but if you mix it quickly and pour on the salad, it works great and is very tasty.
