Replacement for CG scandianivian bran crispbread

I live in Australia, and unfortunately these are not available (well except online and for quite a cost). I would like to try some of the recipes in Dr B's book and elsewhere..is there anything I could use to replace these?

definitely Optimist Crackers (Shanny's link)

They are a staple for me.

Hmmm so is it really just the texture for crackers that these recipes need? I mean...wouldn't the sesame seeds affect the taste for things like desserts?

The sesame seeds don't have that much of a taste, so probably wouldn't be too much of a problem, depending on what they're being used for.

You can mix and match most of the seeds. I have made both savory (onion/garlic) and sweet versions of these crackers. For the sweet ones, I put in dry, unsweetened fine shredded coconut and a sweetener (usually liquid sucrulose). I have also added a bit of vanilla.

You can mix in chopped nuts, too. Or press them into the spread-out dough.

I know Shanny has mentioned breaking them up and using them as a cereal in a bowl.

They are quite versatile.

I sometimes sprinkle them with cinnamon 'sugar' - my mixture of cinnamon & erythritol or xylitol - before baking.

They don't taste like much of anything, and they are so great for many types of uses.

And that isn't a bad thing - they have a very mild sort-of nutty flavor & crispy texture and they're totally wonderful for any 'cracker' purpose you can think of, and can be seasoned to your preferences. This forum went completely bonkers over them when Optimist posted this! We couldn't believe something so easy could be so good!

Where has Optimist been? I hope she is okay. Some people have disappeared from the forum and I just hope they are all okay. Miss them.

I've been wondering the same thing the last couple of days.
