So freaking awesome! I enjoy fishing, and really need to find a place to go around here other than the local "stocked" pond where you never catch anything. My dad used to take me to all these rivers, but we moved away and I haven't explored yet. I'd love to be in a place to catch some fresh salmon, but trout would do! LOL

I ended up buying canned salmon today... $1.99/6oz at Trader Joe's... needed 4 cans, but that still works out cheaper than buying it fresh other places.

AND! The Kerrygold Butter (grassfed) is $2.79 there! All the time! I thought it was a sale, but it's regular price! So freaking psyched!

Anytime I can get canned salmon for less than $2 a can, it's a bargain & besides that, it's cheaper than anything beef - even plain ordinary hamburger, which I never buy - always go for ground chuck.

That is completely incredible! Less than any house brands around here. (never thought I'd ever wish I lived in St Louis, but I'm comin' close now! lol!)

I looked at a couple places at the canned salmon and that was the cheapest I could find it without bones or skin... I mean, it's 24oz for $8, so $2.67/lb - yeah that's pretty darn good. I got whole eye of round for $2.77/lb two weeks ago, but we usually pay much more for any meat, other than whole chicken, legs, or thighs.

The Kerrygold is only 1/2lb though... so it would be $5.58/lb... which we pay around $3 for a pound of regular butter, so an extra $2.58 is worth it for grassfed... we've really cut down on the butter we use to about 1/2lb a week. Without carbs, there's not much to put it on! LOL Plus, I use coconut oil more too.

I always mash up the bones & skin right into whatever I'm making - nobody ever knows but me, heheh, and they add more calcium & omega 3s. I used to pick 'em out, but finally decided they might be good for what ails me.

Ain't that the truth! Was just talking about this the other day. Tonight I made cauli-rice for the first time, not bad. Next time I'll load some Kerrygold on it, but tonight it was to put this Indian Prawn Curry on - man was it delicious! Coconut Cream Recipe: Indian Prawn Curry

I went a little over board...I had half a fish...lol

I'll have to look for that beef the next time we are at Trader Joe's. Hopefully we'll be able to start buying bison again soon.

I've never even thought about doing anythng with green bananas. I thought they would give you a terrible stomach ache. And where did you find the recipe for them, if I may ask?
