Well, this is interesting! Good thing it didn't come along a few years ago when I was more vulnerable, and I'm not posting this to lure anyone else into hoping they can keep bread in their meals, but . . .

Our son is here this week and he's gluten-free. We found a decent gluten-free bread for him which is 12g per slice (quite small slices) so I tried it with ham/eggs this morning and was only 112/6.2 after breakfast. I think I won't be tempted to buy more of it after he leaves, but on the outside chance that we wanna serve hot beef sandwiches (or some equally wonderful but bready meal) for any other guests, it might just be guest-worthy!

(Hot beef sandwiches being thin-sliced roast beef on toast with a pile of cauliflower mashies & beef gravy over all.)

The bread I usually buy (for my mom, who lives with us) is only about 15g per slice. Does this bread have a lot of fibre?

Oh no - no secret . . . Classic White Bread - Schar Only 2g of fiber though.

I have found that when I'm "in the LCHF zone", I can get away with the occasional indulgence without apparent affect. This encourages me to try again... and again... then it all catches up with you.

e.g.
Day 1: I eat a bowl of ice cream and spike to 119. Hurray!
Day 7: Okay maybe this can be a 1x/week thing. My fasting the next day goes up to 110.
Day 14: mmm ice cream for everybody! 2h pp is 260.

If I didn't keep testing, I wouldn't realize that what I got away with the first time is now critically bad for me...
