I hope you don't mind an intrusion into your experiment thread -

I notice that you often have a small amount of vodka with meals or snacks, and that your blood glucose responds like mine does (it keeps it steady or lowers it). Is that an intentional substitute for the 1st phase insulin (your way of telling liver to shut down glucose production for a while so the food-related glucose doesn't just pile on top of the background glucose)? Or just a taste for cinnamon vodka?

It's a couple of things:

1: whenever you see "low-carb ice cream" in a meal, it's homemade, from coconut cream, flavoring, eggs, and enough vodka for it to freeze soft. So ".75 oz. vodka" is part of the ice cream mix.

2. I do really like cinnamon vodka (we make it ourselves, by sticking 8 or 9 sticks of cinnamon into a 1.75 liter bottle of Kirkland's finest). Sometimes, though, I do have an ounce knowing that it will have a good effect on my blood sugar.
