Found out the hard way that I can't substitute a small bowl of oatmeal for a piece of bread.

My breakfast is usually an egg, hard-boiled or fried, with a piece of buttered toast. But we were out of toast, so I had a fried egg and a small bowl of oatmeal with butter, walnuts, and creamer. Total calories: 305. Carbs: 13g. And I spiked a 150. Dang!

Inspired by my new cookbook I made a quick and very good omelet sort of thing...I keep Jimmy Dean precooked sausages on hand in the freezer, but they are too salty for me, and I keep sliced onion and bell peppers there too, so I took a couple of sausage patties and broke them up in small pieces, took one onion slice and chopped it in small bits and heated both in a skillet, added a chunk of cream cheese and stirred it around and put two beaten eggs in and just stirred them around until done and ate it. It would have been prettier if I'd taken time to chop the bell pepper into it, but I was too hungry. It was fast and delicious!

I had my quart of green tea & a string cheese stick - the cheese tasted so good I went back for another!

Breakfast today was green tea & a nice crisp rib of celery stuffed with cream cheese. May go have a big coffee in a little bit.

Very early breakfast today, but we're hitting the road today & have a lot of errands to do before we leave town. So I spread a little butter on a GG cracker & then there was a spoonful of tartar sauce left from fish the other night, so I added that - thinking I'd prob'ly be sorry - just because it's delicious on fish doesn't make it good cracker spread. But it was GOOD!

Gotta get moving now - old woodchopper is up already & I still have presents to wrap (which he didn't do the other day when he dragged out all the bows & paper . . . ) Now if I just had a wee iPad, I could slide it into my purse & still be able to access it, but since I have this big goofy laptop, I gotta pack it up & bundle it into the book bag so it won't get crunched in all the luggage. Just as well - if I could still get online, I'd never get outta the house.

Happy days, peeps . . . I'll be looking in every day or so, so behave yourselves!

For Breakfast today, let's see; I had 3 slices of turkey bacon, a sauted 4.5. oz apple slices, and scambled eggs, two. A dash of Mexican hot sauce on the eggs, and sprinkled some nutmeg and cinnimon on the apple slices.

My husband is up at 5:30 am to get ready for work. What I do is make up a whole pkg of turkey bacon on Sunday night wrap in in a paper towel and put in zip lock and in fridge for the week. I get up and cook 2 eggs and heat 3 pc bacon for about 9 seconds then it's ready. Do the same thing with sausage or make a batch of muffins if I want to sleep in
