Prob'ly zero carbs, but if it was breaded or seasoned with anything carby, then no, not zero carbs.

MC? I'm willing to bet it's the dressing that's bringing all the carbs, unless you're using a bagged salad mix. What kinds of veggies are in that salad, and how big are your portions?

its dole classic iceberg salad
it has 340 grams in weight
has 12 grams carbs minus the 4 grams fibre
it contains mostly lettuce with some carrots and
purple cabbage
my dressings are all 1 carb per tbsp.
I eat either half the whole bag
or when really hungry the whole bag
so more dressing on the more salad I have
had to cut out the meat with it
causing cravings

Is this the salad you eat for most meals? The carrots would be suspect to me. In other threads you mention you are on a budget. Eating a couple bags of this a day would be on the expensive side of my budget. Why not buy the head of iceberg lettuce and a head of purple cabbage, if you want it (though I find it a little too carby for me in large portions) and make your own? You won't have to deal with the carrots at all.

I made a salad out of canned smoked trout and homemade mayo and rolled it in a rice wrapper (resistant starch) with shredded cabbage.

Meat shouldn't cause the cravings unless it is highly processed with added sugar. Maybe opt for a more natural product like chicken that you cook yourself then slice and refrigerate for future uses.

Also make zero carb blue cheese dressing with mayo and cheese chunks.

A cheaper and more nutritional salad mix could come from buying leafy lettuce heads; like red, endive, romaine and such, washing chopping and bagging, your own mix. You can always tear off a few leaves of cabbage without buying the whole head, maybe add chopped kale too. Hard boil some eggs and add as needed for a great fat and filling source of nutrients. A heavy drizzle of olive oil will help upping your fat and help keeping you full longer too.

I had Pho with lean beef at a Vietnamese restaurant. I asked the waiter to substitute noodles for Sprouts. It was just broth, sprouts, meat, and some jalapenos.

Hi, Gabriel ...

Please see my post on the breakfast thread.

Most of us have found a way of eating that keeps our glucose near-normal ... grains have no place on our menus.

Please share your personal experiences with diabetes. That's what we're here for!
