Default Bacon Appreciation Thread

I am a carb-lover; there's not much about my LCHF lifestyle now that I prefer over my old one, taste-bud-wise.

But bacon?

Bacon is truly and utterly delicious! So let me give thanks for BACON!

Then use it every little chance you get. Save all the bacon grease to cook with and to add to other dishes, and add bacon to everything! Because I bake the bacon, I always have scads of grease to pour off & save, and because I make bacon weaves, I have sturdy little patties to use as vehicles for other foods.

Some of my LCHF recipes make me almost thankful I got the diabetes wake-up call . . . if you aren't eating Eggs Benedict, then you aren't taking full advantage of the LCHF WoE, Mary! Just ditch the English muffin & place the eggs/bacon/hollandaise sauce on a slice of eggplant or squash (or even fried green tomato!) for the base.

Another dish that took us by storm is crack slaw . . . we have this about once a week, and the main tweak I use is to just go heavy on the seasonings.

If you're a soup person, try Steak soup.

Our recipes board is crammed with incredibly delicious tried & true dishes.

I agree with all of you, but I never limit myself to just bacon! I learned years ago from Emeril that "Pork Fat Rules" !

Yum always for bacon, just sometimes more than others. I get off my "feed" every once in a while....and would rather have sausage than bacon. But I am really loving the pork fat I found up in town a couple of weeks ago!! Hope they have more when I go again.

Can't have too much bacon. Got 50 poppers and 2 pounds of bacon/broccoli salad getting ready for football this weekend. That's close to four pounds of bacon alone.

Trust me when I say there won't be any left

There's only one thing that tastes better than a strip of bacon. Four strips of bacon. To whomever invented the Bacon, Lettuce & Tomato sandwich on toast...I LOVE YOU!
