Default Bacon??????

I like, but don't have often, grilled meat. However, the Food Police will have to pry my cold hands off my bacon after my death. Lunch meats, etc on the danger list that came out this week are not an often thing.

Oh, well I didn't quit butter years back...

How about y'all?

I do my own 'lunch meat' by getting our favorite hams on sale and slicing them however we want them - thick slices for frying with eggs, etc., and wafer-thin slices for lunch meat. I also buy rump roasts on sale & use them for deli roast beef - again slicing wafer-thin for lunch meat.

But bacon is still our biggest component . . . I'm about ready to crank up the oven again tonight & make another few pounds of bacon weaves.

What list was that?

I buy a non-nitrate/nitrite bacon - at one of the regular grocery stores, no less! I bake the slices in the oven, pour off and strain the grease to save, and put the extra slices in the oven.

I look for the bacon with the most fat and least meat - which isn't hard to find because everyone else is looking for more lean and less fat.

Here is a link to one of the articles about the report.

Here is a link to Jimmy Moore replying to it on Instagram.

And here is the link to Jimmy Moore's Livinlavidalowcarb site replying to a similar report back in 2009.

I'm sorry I didn't say that it is a WHO report. Thanks GrammaB for fixing that error before I saw it.

I should have said besides my bacon they'd have to take my beef and pork products also from my cold dead hands!

Our new government has banned the sale, possession & eating of beef. At least that's the case, in most states.

I'd now need to travel a minimum 600 km to eat beef.

I just can't fathom beef not being legal. No way I'm giving up meat. However, 375 miles is a heck of a drive! So sorry you have been put in that position skb

Isn't it appalling? That the right-wing of so many different contingents have been allowed to gain control and legislate their religious beliefs into governmental control?
