Default Ever tried this product?

I recently received my order from Netrition.com. In the box was a "sample" of this product.

Fiber Gourmet Lite Microwave Mix

I fixed it and had it with my lunch today and if my opinion counts as anything - save your money if you're thinking of trying it. My blood sugar is now sitting at 176 (9.7). Prior to eating it I did take the appropriate amount of insulin to cover the amount of carbs.

Did it taste good?

Anything that says "lite" on the package almost guarantees high carb low fat. This one had 19 net carbs per serving. (Over half my daily carb intake.)

Next time, give it away.

I tend to avoid all processed mixes even when they say they are safe for diabetics.

Yikes! Did you read the ingredients on this mix? It has sugar as the second ingredient, and brown sugar as a topping! It also has wheat flour (although lists as resistant starch?), but a lot of "gum" products too. I don't think I would have even tried this! It shows 14g of sugar! No way Jose!

Good idea to just stay away from pre-packaged foods. They usually contain many bad ingredients for a diabetic...or for anyone for that matter really.
