WOW, Peter. Your meals are really high in carbohydrates, and look to be quite low in fat. I am amazed you were able to achieve normal blood sugar eating that way. Are you on insulin?

Evening meal lean meat portion and veg and sweet potato/basmati rice. Water intake about 2 litres. Cups of herbal tea as well throughout the day. Normal blood sugar levels were achieved within 9 months. Hope this helps. Reducing stress helps as most people eat more when stressed. Regards Peter
G,day Peter,

The above menu, is that what you can eat now after reversing things around? Food diary suggestion is great. Thanku. I've managed to have it so I know exactly what I am eating. I've lost 10 kilos to date but really just want to lose the last few a bit slower now so I'm watching the calories now too and making sure that the amt of calories I can have is filled with the best Nutrients possible. It was a big job setting up my diary with a list of meals I like to make with all the nutrition info but very worth it. I just add new things I cook every now and then now. Peter, Would you mind elaborating a bit more on your first reply? If I ate what you have written down I would be way over my BG limits. I'm not on any medication at present.

Smile Sample Menu

Hi Kaz8888
Yes - this is generally what I eat. I keep to small portions of complex carbs with low GI. I try to mix it up with proteins and healthy fats. I found that this worked for me. I think it is about knowing your body and keeping an eye on your numbers so you can see what is working and what needs to be modified or eradicated. I got some helpful advice from a couple of sites but generally worked things out myself from what I could find out about diabetes. Always keep learning and reading to find out what works for you. That is one reason why I joined this forum because you cannot get complacent with type 2 diabetes and it is good to learn from other peoples experiences and how they manage their diabetes. Hope this helps. Regards
Peter
