3-1-3-1-3-1 is servings (around 15 grams) but that doesnt limit the food that does not contain carbs eg if I have pasta for dinner then the salad and the meat dont count as carbs but the tomato paste does so my calories also come with that. Clear as mud? I think so. No wonder I get lost...

ok, you really need to know that the doctors guidelines are an ancient recommendation from an experiment on the public that went horribly wrong. They tell us to eat low fat (since the 70s) and now we are faced with abut 50% of the population prediabetic or diabetic

I think you need to consider lowering your carbs as much as you can. Eating VLC/HF means eating about 1 serving of carbs for the entire day (about 45g). I eat between 20 and 30g a day.

you will be very surprised how well your numbers will get. I also do not want you to do something without some dietary expert so I suggest that you find a dietitian that embraces VLC/HF and let them help you.

Its a VERY big paradigm shift to eat VLC/HF but from most peoples experience, you can get your BG numbers in MUCH better shape and even possibly keep it within normal ranges.

Others have given you technical answers. Have you read on the website BloodSugar! Much of the answers are their!

In April of 2015, after a lot of study on this topic, I decided to change to eating low carbs high fat! 6 months later, my A1c was 5.8 down from 7.9. My blood pressure was down from 135/95 to 120/75. My waste went from 52inchs to 46inches. My weight went from 320lbs. to 270lbs.
and my Cholesterol remained in the healthy zone for diabetics.

All of this answered my questions regarding fat intake! Does it answer your question?

Eat Fat and Go low carb....end of discussion! By the way I still weigh 270lbs and all my health numbers are holding....
