Default Two Girl Scout cookies = bg 89

Why? I just don't get it.

I woke up with a fbg of 96. I ate my usual soup and salad brunch, which has 46 net carbs. Two hours later I was at 103, so I decided to risk eating two G.S. cookies with a handful of almonds. One hour later, I'm at 89. I feel fine. Not high or low, just fighting the carb cravings that come with eating sugar.

Why didn't the cookies send my bg soaring? I seem to have fewer problems with sugar than I do with grains. Anyone else like that?

I wouldn't ask too many questions, but just enjoy the ride before your body realises it is diabetic. What kind of GS cookies were they? I haven't had one since I became diabetic. Boy, did I love the thin mints.

I too find that sugar doesn't raise me as high or as long as grains.

Samoas, or what I like to call "candy bars masquerading as cookies." I don't dare risk Thin Mints because I could inhale an entire box justlikethat.

No insulin. I'm on Janumet twice a day; daily total = 1000mg of metformin and 50mg of sitagliptin.

The one question I am asking myself is if I'm overmedicated and it's time to trying cutting back. I'm just waiting for my next A1c before I do. I really, really want a good reading this time.

This is what I'm finding too! The occasionally cup of tea with sugar, no problem (as long as it's one cup, in the afternoon, when I'm most carb-tolerant). But a bowl of oatmeal sends me to the moon. I don't get it.
