I had a friend mention to me that she just really doesn't have enough time in her daily schedule to follow a ketogenic lifestyle, and I just about fell over laughing.

During the week, when I am working, the very last thing I feel like doing (especially during the hot summer month) is cooking.

Yes, I realize I could meal prep on Sundays for the coming week, but...

Did I mention I am lazy?

I am in no way saying that buying premade stuff is the healthiest of options. I am just saying it works for me.

Breakfast:

It is unusual for me to be hungry in the morning, so I usually start the day with my own style of bullet proof coffee.
  • 2 cups of whatever brand coffee I happened to buy that week.
  • 1 tablespoon of Kerrygold butter. (I usually choose unsalted)
  • 1 tablespoon of Brain Octane Oil or coconut oil, depending on what I have on hand.
  • Some heavy cream.

Lunch:

I buy variety cheeses already cut to "cracker size" and layer some meat in between, usually something like salami slices. Sometimes I will grab some smoke almonds too.

If I am more in the mood for breakfast, I make the ultra lazy man Simple Scrambles in the microwave. (Takes less than 2 minutes.) Occasionally I will add a little extra cheese. If I am hungrier than normal I may dump it all into a low carb tortilla and add some salsa.

Dinner.

I buy pre-made cobb salad from Walmart and doctor it up a bit, but adding a boiled egg or 2, (yes I buy those already boiled and peeled) slice up a bit of avocado to add in there and sometimes a handful of chopped nuts, such as walnuts. Oh, I absolutely LOVE adding some pre-sliced olives in there too. I buy Marie's Chunky Blue Cheese dressing which happens to be right next to the cobb salads in my local Walmart.

Snacks:

My most common snack is sugar free jello with whipped cream on top but I do keep a jar of peanut butter around for when I have a serious craving and just grab a big old spoonful.

count me in as a lazy keto too...

String Cheese, bullet salami, green beans with melted cheese (microwaved), Cheese crackers with sour cream(takes more time to heat the oven than to cook these), Tuna Fish, for a treat I will have a keto mug cake.

if it doesnt take a few minutes to cook it or microwave it... I dont have the energy...

Oh yes! I am also lazy when it comes to cooking for myself and I have had quite a few of those readymade salads. I just don’t care that much for lettuce and there is a lot in those packages.
I do enjoy making breakfast although I eat the same thing every day. 2 eggs over easy with 2 thin slices of extra sharp cheder cheese on 1 slice of 7 grain bread smothered with hot sauce. I guess that is not a healthy combination from what I’ve been told, but I can’t wait to get up in the morning to make it.

OMG, I just don't know what to say except WOW, I wish I would have seen this years ago.

Well I guess I'm tossing all my bread. I love egg yoke on toast so I have to find an alternative

Once you get the basics down, you can try some recipes for low carb bread alternatives.

Since I do less than 0.05% of the cooking (I can, I just don't) I find opening a can of sardines and a bag of pork rinds pretty low on the labor intensity scale.

My typical lunch is a serving from a big plastic pack of ready-to-use salad greens topped with ... something. Could be leftover baked chicken, canned tuna, a couple of cooked brats,... Add some dressing and I'm good to go. And it varies enough that I don't get very tired of it.

Come this fall I'll cook up bunches and bunches of collards or turnip greens with ham or turkey tails or bacon for the freezer. They'll be quick lunches or on-my-own dinners. That's a quick low-carb higher-fat meal, too.
