Default Pineapple Syrup

I'm getting ready to make another order at Netrition. I have never tried pineapple syrup and was wondering if anyone here has tried the Da Vinci brand pineapple and if so, what is your opinion of it.

Oh, YES! I use it all the time.

Sweeten coleslaw to give it the flavor one used to get from adding crushed pineapple.

Sweeten cream cheese for a cracker spread

Add some to flaked coconut to sweeten - also the liquid softens the coconut. Add macadamia nuts. Let sit 20 mins or so for coconut to absorbe the liquid - stir every few minutes.

Flavor a smoothie.

Pour over (low carb) vanilla ice cream.

I just placed a Netrition order about 2 minutes ago - bought another bottle of pineapple syrup - I'm not about to run out.

Wow, thanks for all the great tips. I was planning to attempt to make faux pineapple so I could try for pineapple upside down cake. I thought about cooking thin quarter rounds of peeled zucchini in pineapple syrup for the faux pineapple. Any thoughts on this or is it most likely a pipedream?

Not a pipe dream. Someone else has already worked it out. I originally bought the pineapple syrup to make faux pineapple for a pineapple upside down cake, just like you, but never got around to actually doing it.

The recipe I have calls for dehydrated cauliflower. I'll see if I can find the directions for this. Apparently it is undistinguishable from the real thing.

I even bought the dehydrated cauliflower - 3 bags of it. Over the last year or so it has all disappeared into soups and casseroles.

I've never used the Pineapple. I just got my order from Netrition yesterday. I bought some Dulche de Leche syrup and some German Chocolate Cake syrup. Now, I'm thinking I should have ordered the Pineapple. Now I am craving Pineapple. I used to love Upside down cake.

Isn't this how it works? I never order and hit the send button that I don't think of something else I wish I'd ordered!

I found the Pseudo Pineapple recipe. For those who are familiar with him, it is one of Kevinpa's recipes.

Pseudo Pineapple (1/2 cup) (2 carbs)

1/2 cup freeze dried cauliflower
1/2 cup pineapple davinci
1/2 tsp granular erythritol

Combine ingredient in nonstick sauce pan and cook down over medium high heat stirring constantly until liquid is almost all gone.

Use as crushed pineapple from a can.

I did blind taste tests and people could not tell me which was the real pineapple.

You can get the dried cauliflower at
Dehydrated and Powdered Vegetables

This is their veggie page - scroll down to see the products.

I bought several of their veggies and have been using them in soups and stews. Very handy when I don't have fresh on hand.
